IT Supplier and Contract Review
Independent advice to help you understand what you’re paying for, what you’re getting and whether it’s right for your organisation.
- Are you getting good value from your IT, website or digital supplier?
- Is your supplier delivering what was agreed?
- Do you still need everything you're paying for?
- Is the price you're being charged reasonable?
I review supplier arrangements from the client's point of view.
I don't sell IT services, software or replacement systems.
I help you understand what you're paying for, what you're receiving and whether the arrangement still meets your needs.
When something doesn't seem right
Sometimes you don't yet know exactly what the problem is. You just know that something isn't working as you expected.
A project may not have delivered what you thought you were buying.
You may be facing unexpected additional charges, struggling to get changes made, or finding it difficult to establish who is responsible for a problem.
I can help untangle the technical and commercial issues, establish what was originally agreed and identify the questions that need to be asked.
If the issue requires legal, financial or other specialist professional advice, I'll tell you so you can find the right person to help. My role is to help you understand the technology and supplier issues well enough to decide what to do next.
Help when you need to challenge a supplier
It can be difficult to challenge an IT supplier when they have considerably more technical knowledge than you do.
I can help you understand their explanations and recommendations, identify points that need further clarification and give you an independent view before you make a decision.
I can also help you present the situation clearly to trustees, directors or other decision-makers, so they aren't being asked to make a decision based solely on the supplier's assessment.
What can I review?
Depending on the questions you need answered, I can look at:
- IT support and maintenance contracts
- Website support and maintenance agreements
- Supplier proposals and quotations
- Statements of Work
- Invoices and additional charges
- What was originally promised compared with what has been delivered
I look at these alongside what your organisation actually needs, rather than considering the contract in isolation.
What can an independent review tell you?
An independent review isn't about finding fault; it's about giving you the information you need to make a decision.
Sometimes the answer will be that the existing arrangement is perfectly reasonable.
Sometimes you may just need the right information to be able to challenge and renegotiate your contract.
And sometimes you may need to simply walk away.
Whatever the outcome, I'll explain what you're getting, help you understand whether it represents value for money, and give you the information you need to make an informed decision.
What happens next?
There isn't a standard supplier review because every situation is different.
We start with the problem as you see it and the decision you need to make.
I'll work with you to understand what you need, identify what information I need to review, and agree the scope with you before any work begins.
Need an independent view?
